Welcome! You've reached the web-site of Christiaan J. Roselaar, PA3FUN. Thanks for stopping by!
Licensed in 1978 as PE1CVP and holding the PA3FUN-callsign since 1991. I'm a big fan of low-band DX-ing. Most hams in the Netherlands lack enough space to put out large enough antenna's for low-band DX-ing, and until 2005 I was no exception to that rule. Desperate to nevertheless work DX on 80m, I looked for an alternative. In 1997 I built a remote shack out in a farm field some four kilometres away from our home. Excellent for DX, but cold, windy and also meaning being away from home too many times. Years later, in the summer of 2004, I managed to deploy a fully remotely controllable DX-station. That station comprised a total of seven beverage-antenna's, however had no TX-antenna. Please read more on these outdoor adventures under the tab "Low-band DX-ing". In 2005 we eventually moved to a beautifully located farmhouse, just 800 metres away from the location of my former "remote station". For those interested in where we live, please check out "Our Home". As you can see, plenty of space now for antenna's: a low-band DX-ers dream come true!
I'm a member of the Benelux QRP-Club. If you are too, and do not like high power transmitting, then do NOT read anything under the tab "Ham Radio / (Big) Transmitters". If you like what you see on this site, I would appreciate it if you would sign my guestbook or simply drop me an e-mail (pa3fun<at>veron.nl). Of course, comments and/or suggestions are highly appreciated!
