Antennas

One of the main reasons (speaking for myself) to relocate to our current home back in 2005 was the perfect location to experiment with low-band HF-antennas.

The Google-map below shows the position of the various antenna's normally in operation. Please note our own plot (6.200m2), marked by the light-green boundaries. By courtesy of a local land-owner I may use the farm field to the north-east of our house (shown in grey) during the winter months. This field, consisting of very good conducting soil, measures roughly 550 * 185 meters (100.000m2!).

This "winter-only" restriction implies that I do operate a few all-season antenna's, and some "winter-only" antenna's. For me "winter-only" is not really a restriction, since most low-band DX-ing takes place during the winter months anyway. Only drawback of this "winter-only" approach is that I have to build up the winter season antenna's every year again, right when the crop has been harvested (sometime end of September), and take them down sometime March - April.

The map shows the position of the various antenna's in red.
