[14-sep-2010]
This day started with a 270km drive to a depot of the German "Bundeswehr" to collect an item I have been on the lookout for for quite some time - the AEG SE-6861 HF manpack transceiver. I honestly believe this is one of the finest manpacks ever made.
The specs of this transceiver in brief:
- frequency range: 1.5-30Mc in 100Hz increments (up/down decade buttons)
- modes: cw/usb/lsb
- power: 20Watts (reducable to 2 Watts)
The radio I picked up proved to be in "NOS" condition. Manfred (DJ3SE) who also owns one of these beauties told me the Bundeswehr paid 14.469,24Euro for each one of these radios!
Should you be looking for the very-hard-to-get mil-spec power connector (see bottom of page): I've still got a few of them "NOS" for sale!
