December 2005, we relocated from Opmeer to our new home in Nieuwe Niedorp. The house is an old farmhouse, originally built around 1850, and completely overhauled by its previous owners in the 2003-2005 timeframe. For Dutch standards the farmhouse is situated on a large piece of real estate, measuring some 10.000 square meters. In front of the farmhouse is the "Langereis", a canal dug centuries ago as part of the infrastructure to fight the water. At the rear, the house is facing seemingly endless farm fields.
Nieuwe Niedorp itself is located in the North-West part of the Netherlands, about 45 kilometres North of Amsterdam (which is NOT the capital city of Denmark?!)
